Auction result well in line with expectations
The work The Madonna And Child Enthroned, Flanked By Saints John The Baptist, Peter, Paul And Zenobius (?), And Two Angels, Below Them Two Donors by Taddeo Gaddi was sold in the Old Master and British Paintings Day Sale auction at Sothebys in London in December 2011. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 40,000.00 – 60,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 44,450.00 (€ 53,235.15) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Taddeo Gaddi achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work A triptych: central panel: The Madonna and Child enthroned with Saints; wings: The Nativity with the Angel of the Annunciation; and The Crucifixion with Virgin Annunciate in July 2011 with an auction result of GBP 1,329,250.00 (€ 1,525,513.23).

Die Arbeit The Madonna And Child Enthroned, Flanked By Saints John The Baptist, Peter, Paul And Zenobius (?), And Two Angels, Below Them Two Donors von Taddeo Gaddi wurde im Dezember 2011 in der Auktion Old Master and British Paintings Day Sale bei Sothebys in London versteigert. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 40.000,00 – 60.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 44.450,00 (€ 53.235,15) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Taddeo Gaddi erzielen.
