A top price for Tachihara Kyosho
This artwork by Tachihara Kyosho achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in New York in March 2003. In the JAPANESE AND KOREAN ART auction, the work Shoki on horseback sold for USD 5,736.00 (€ 5,262.39) - well above the upper estimate of USD 3,000.00. This high result makes Shoki on horseback the most expensive artwork by Tachihara Kyosho that we have observed at auctions so far.
