This artwork by Tachihara Kyosho achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in New York in March 2003. In the JAPANESE AND KOREAN ART auction, the work Chinese scholar in a pine forest sold for USD 3,824.00 (€ 3,508.26) - well above the upper estimate of USD 2,000.00. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Tachihara Kyosho; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot Shoki on horseback sold at auction in March 2003 with the realized price of USD 5,736.00 (€ 5,262.39).

Dieses Kunstwerk von Tachihara Kyosho erzielte im März 2003 bei Christies in New York einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion JAPANESE AND KOREAN ART wurde die Arbeit Chinese scholar in a pine forest für USD 3.824,00 (€ 3.508,26) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von USD 2.000,00. Trotz des guten Ergebnisses ist dies nicht der höchste Zuschlag für ein Kunstwerk von Tachihara Kyosho; den erzielte unter den von uns beobachteten Auktionen die Arbeit Shoki on horseback im März 2003 mit dem Hammerpreis von USD 5.736,00 (€ 5.262,39).
