Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Sun Yi could be acquired at Sothebys in New York in September 2019 for an unexpectedly low price. In the Fine Classical Chinese Paintings & Calligraphy auction, the work Lotus changed hands for USD 2,750.00 (€ 2,521.78) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of USD 3,000.00 – 5,000.00. Admittedly, works by Sun Yi have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Pheasant in October 2016 with an auction result of HKD 93,750.00 (€ 11,032.43).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Dieses Kunstwerk von Sun Yi konnte im September 2019 bei Sothebys in New York für einen unerwartet niedrigen Preis ersteigert werden. In der Auktion Fine Classical Chinese Paintings & Calligraphy wechselte die Arbeit Lotus für USD 2.750,00 (€ 2.521,78) den Besitzer – und verfehlte damit das untere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 3.000,00 – 5.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Sun Yi auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Pheasant im Oktober 2016 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 93.750,00 (€ 11.032,43).
