Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Sun Yi could be acquired at Christies in Hong Kong in December 2008 for an unexpectedly low price. In the Fine Chinese Classical Paintings and Calligraphy auction, the work Birds and Flowers changed hands for HKD 62,500.00 (€ 5,792.44) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of HKD 80,000.00 – 100,000.00. Other works by Sun Yi have also sold for higher prices; the highest price we have seen at auction so far was achieved in October 2016 by the work Pheasant at HKD 93,750.00 (€ 11,032.43).

Dieses Kunstwerk von Sun Yi konnte im Dezember 2008 bei Christies in Hong Kong für einen unerwartet niedrigen Preis ersteigert werden. In der Auktion Fine Chinese Classical Paintings and Calligraphy wechselte die Arbeit Birds and Flowers für HKD 62.500,00 (€ 5.792,44) den Besitzer – und verfehlte damit das untere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von HKD 80.000,00 – 100.000,00. Andere Arbeiten von Sun Yi wurden auch schon teurer gehandelt; den höchsten Preis, den wir bisher bei Auktionen beobachten konnten, erzielte im Oktober 2016 die Arbeit Pheasant mit HKD 93.750,00 (€ 11.032,43).
