Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Sea Of Desire No. 31 by Su Xinping was auctioned at Sothebys in New York in September 2008. The price achieved of USD 110,500.00 (€ 78,474.54) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 100,000.00 – 120,000.00. Admittedly, works by Su Xinping have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Cheers in September 2007 with an auction result of USD 493,000.00 (€ 346,719.18).
