Auction result well in line with expectations
In July 2004 Christies in London held the auction 20th Century British Art, which included the work On the Beach by Steven Spurrier. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 800.00 – 1,200.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 896.25 (€ 1,354.43) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Admittedly, works by Steven Spurrier have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work The Flunkeys in July 2004 with an auction result of GBP 4,541.00 (€ 6,862.45).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Juli 2004 führte Christies in London die Auktion 20th Century British Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit On the Beach von Steven Spurrier zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 800,00 – 1.200,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 896,25 (€ 1.354,43) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Steven Spurrier auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit The Flunkeys im Juli 2004 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 4.541,00 (€ 6.862,45).
