Auction result well in line with expectations
In September 2008 Sothebys in New York held the auction American Paintings, Drawings and Sculpture, which included the work Strangers by Steve Wheeler. It changed hands for a price of USD 11,875.00 (€ 8,433.35) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of USD 8,000.00 – 12,000.00. Admittedly, works by Steve Wheeler have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Untitled, W22 (Man Looking at Pork Chop) in May 2008 with an auction result of USD 109,000.00 (€ 70,051.41).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im September 2008 führte Sothebys in New York die Auktion American Paintings, Drawings and Sculpture durch, in der auch die Arbeit Strangers von Steve Wheeler zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wechselte sie für einen Preis von USD 11.875,00 (€ 8.433,35) den Besitzer und erzielte damit ein Ergebnis im oberen Bereich der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 8.000,00 – 12.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Steve Wheeler auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Untitled, W22 (Man Looking at Pork Chop) im Mai 2008 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 109.000,00 (€ 70.051,41).
