Artwork auctioned at four times the upper estimate price
The work Tao Fung Shan by Stephen Wong Chun Hei was worth HKD 537,400.00 (€ 64,413.35) to a buyer in May this year. This price was achieved in the auction Modern & Contemporary Art and Southeast Asian Art at Bonhams in New York and exceeded the previously set upper estimate of HKD 120,000.00 many times over. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Stephen Wong Chun Hei - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work MacLehose Trail: Section 10, which sold at auction in October this year for HKD 1,143,000.00 (€ 138,224.26).

Die Arbeit Tao Fung Shan von Stephen Wong Chun Hei war einem Käufer im Mai diesen Jahres HKD 537.400,00 (€ 64.413,35) wert. Dieser Preise wurde in der Auktion Modern & Contemporary Art and Southeast Asian Art bei Bonhams in New York erzielt und übertraf den zuvor angesetzten oberen Schätzpreis von HKD 120.000,00 um ein Vielfaches. Für andere Arbeiten von Stephen Wong Chun Hei mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit MacLehose Trail: Section 10 beobachtet, die im Oktober diesen Jahres für HKD 1.143.000,00 (€ 138.224,26) versteigert wurde.
