A top price for Stephen Cox - as previously expected
The work Turmeric Throng by Stephen Cox was auctioned at Christies in London in June 2002. The price achieved of GBP 7,767.50 (€ 12,014.56) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 7,000.00 – 10,000.00. Even if this result could not surprise positively, Turmeric Throng is the most expensive artwork by Stephen Cox that we have observed at auctions so far.

Die Arbeit Turmeric Throng von Stephen Cox kam im Juni 2002 bei Christies in London zur Auktion. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 7.767,50 (€ 12.014,56) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 7.000,00 – 10.000,00 angegeben worden. Auch wenn das Ergebnis damit nicht positiv überraschen konnte, ist Turmeric Throng das teuerste Kunstwerk von Stephen Cox, das wir bisher bei Auktionen beobachtet haben.
