In December 2007 Christies in London held the auction Twentieth Century British Art, which included the work Ludlow Castle, Shropshire by Stanley Roy Badmin. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 6,250.00 (€ 8,492.69), 25% above the upper estimate. Admittedly, works by Stanley Roy Badmin have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work The Four Seasons in December 2007 with an auction result of GBP 34,100.00 (€ 46,336.12).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 25 % übertroffen
Im Dezember 2007 führte Christies in London die Auktion Twentieth Century British Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Ludlow Castle, Shropshire von Stanley Roy Badmin zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 6.250,00 (€ 8.492,69) und damit 25% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Stanley Roy Badmin auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit The Four Seasons im Dezember 2007 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 34.100,00 (€ 46.336,12).
