This price was achieved in the auction María Félix: La Doña at Christies in New York and exceeded the previously set upper estimate of USD 4,000.00 many times over. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Stanislas Lepri; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot L'homme au visage craquelé sold at auction in May last year with the realized price of GBP 20,160.00 (€ 23,716.32).
