Auction result well in line with expectations
In July 2020 Christies in London held the auction British & European Art, which included the work Where the river bends by Stanhope Alexander Forbes. It changed hands for a price of GBP 18,750.00 (€ 20,914.20) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of GBP 15,000.00 – 20,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Stanhope Alexander Forbes achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The Quarry Team in July 2018 with an auction result of GBP 237,500.00 (€ 266,289.72).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Juli 2020 führte Christies in London die Auktion British & European Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Where the river bends von Stanhope Alexander Forbes zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wechselte sie für einen Preis von GBP 18.750,00 (€ 20.914,20) den Besitzer und erzielte damit ein Ergebnis im oberen Bereich der Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 15.000,00 – 20.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Stanhope Alexander Forbes erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit The Quarry Team im Juli 2018 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 237.500,00 (€ 266.289,72).
