Auction result well in line with expectations
In June 2020 Christies in New York held the auction Virtue, which included the work Boomerang Don by Spencer Sweeney. The price achieved of USD 2,500.00 (€ 2,225.98) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 2,000.00 – 3,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Spencer Sweeney achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Saint Tropez Gigolo in July 2020 with an auction result of USD 50,000.00 (€ 42,466.45).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Juni 2020 führte Christies in New York die Auktion Virtue durch, in der auch die Arbeit Boomerang Don von Spencer Sweeney zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 2.500,00 (€ 2.225,98) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 2.000,00 – 3.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Spencer Sweeney erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Saint Tropez Gigolo im Juli 2020 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 50.000,00 (€ 42.466,45).
