Upper estimate price exceeded by more than 100%
This artwork by Sophie Ryder achieved an unexpectedly high price at Bonhams in London in September 2021. In the Blazing a TrailModern British Women auction, the work Minotaur and Hare on a Grate sold for GBP 36,500.00 (€ 42,468.26) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 15,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Sophie Ryder - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Lady-Hare with Dog 216 cm. (85 in.) high, which sold at auction in November last year for GBP 94,800.00 (€ 109,851.55).

Dieses Kunstwerk von Sophie Ryder erzielte im September 2021 bei Bonhams in London einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Blazing a TrailModern British Women wurde die Arbeit Minotaur and Hare on a Grate für GBP 36.500,00 (€ 42.468,26) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von GBP 15.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Sophie Ryder mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Lady-Hare with Dog 216 cm. (85 in.) high beobachtet, die im November letzten Jahres für GBP 94.800,00 (€ 109.851,55) versteigert wurde.
