Auction result well in line with expectations
In July 2020 Sothebys in New York held the auction The Ginny Williams Collection: Part II, which included the work Les Tombes (Father/Mother) by Sophie Calle. The price achieved of USD 6,000.00 (€ 5,095.97) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 5,000.00 – 7,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Sophie Calle achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The Sleepers (Les dormeurs) in November 2011 with an auction result of USD 218,500.00 (€ 162,417.30).
