Upper estimate price exceeded by more than 100%
This artwork by Song Xu achieved an unexpectedly high price at Sothebys in New York in March 2012. In the Fine Classical Chinese Paintings auction, the work The Forest Grotto At Juchu, After Wang Meng sold for USD 242,500.00 (€ 181,865.91) - well above the upper estimate of USD 90,000.00. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Song Xu; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot Scholar under Locust sold at auction in June 2015 with the realized price of HKD 2,440,000.00 (€ 282,194.73).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Song Xu erzielte im März 2012 bei Sothebys in New York einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Fine Classical Chinese Paintings wurde die Arbeit The Forest Grotto At Juchu, After Wang Meng für USD 242.500,00 (€ 181.865,91) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von USD 90.000,00. Trotz des guten Ergebnisses ist dies nicht der höchste Zuschlag für ein Kunstwerk von Song Xu; den erzielte unter den von uns beobachteten Auktionen die Arbeit Scholar under Locust im Juni 2015 mit dem Hammerpreis von HKD 2.440.000,00 (€ 282.194,73).
