Auction result well in line with expectations
In December 2008 Christies in Hong Kong held the auction Important Chinese Classical Paintings: Property of the Ping Y Tai Foundation, which included the work Autumn Mountains and Waterfall by Song Xu. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of HKD 400,000.00 – 600,000.00, the actual price achieved of HKD 437,500.00 (€ 40,547.09) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Admittedly, works by Song Xu have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Scholar under Locust in June 2015 with an auction result of HKD 2,440,000.00 (€ 282,194.73).
