In October 2008 Christies in London held the auction Scottish ArtThe Assembly Rooms, Edinburgh, which included the work The corn field by William MacTaggart. The result of GBP 3,000.00 (€ 3,823.92) was exactly at the lower end of the estimate range of GBP 3,000.00 – 5,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by William MacTaggart achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The Gauldrons, Machrihanish in October 2005 with an auction result of GBP 26,400.00 (€ 38,932.02).
Zuschlag beim unteren Schätzpreis
Im Oktober 2008 führte Christies in London die Auktion Scottish ArtThe Assembly Rooms, Edinburgh durch, in der auch die Arbeit The corn field von William MacTaggart zur Versteigerung kam. Das dabei erzielte Ergebnis von GBP 3.000,00 (€ 3.823,92) entsprach exakt dem unteren Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 3.000,00 – 5.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von William MacTaggart erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit The Gauldrons, Machrihanish im Oktober 2005 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 26.400,00 (€ 38.932,02).
