Auction result well in line with expectations
In May 2014 Sothebys in London held the auction British & Irish Art, which included the work Still Life by William MacTaggart. The price achieved of GBP 10,000.00 (€ 12,290.32) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 8,000.00 – 12,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by William MacTaggart - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work The Gauldrons, Machrihanish, which sold at auction in October 2005 for GBP 26,400.00 (€ 38,932.02).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Mai 2014 führte Sothebys in London die Auktion British & Irish Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Still Life von William MacTaggart zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 10.000,00 (€ 12.290,32) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 8.000,00 – 12.000,00 angegeben worden. Für andere Arbeiten von William MacTaggart mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit The Gauldrons, Machrihanish beobachtet, die im Oktober 2005 für GBP 26.400,00 (€ 38.932,02) versteigert wurde.
