Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
The work Seated Woman by William Dobell was sold in the THE JOHN SCHAEFFER COLLECTION AT RONA auction at Christies in Sydney in May 2004. Here, the upper estimate of AUD 2,000.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for AUD 2,151.00 (€ 1,256.76). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by William Dobell achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Australian Opera House, Sydney Harbour in August 2007 with an auction result of AUD 816,000.00 (€ 487,948.98).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Die Arbeit Seated Woman von William Dobell wurde im Mai 2004 in der Auktion THE JOHN SCHAEFFER COLLECTION AT RONA bei Christies in Sydney versteigert. Dabei wurde der obere Schätzpreis von AUD 2.000,00 leicht übertroffen – das Kunstwerk fand für AUD 2.151,00 (€ 1.256,76) einen neuen Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von William Dobell erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Australian Opera House, Sydney Harbour im August 2007 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von AUD 816.000,00 (€ 487.948,98).
