A top price for William Coldstream - as previously expected
In November 2012 Sothebys in London held the auction Modern & Post-War British Art, which included the work Seated Nude by William Coldstream. It changed hands for a price of GBP 73,250.00 (€ 90,236.57) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of GBP 50,000.00 – 80,000.00. Even if this result could not surprise positively, Seated Nude is the most expensive artwork by William Coldstream that we have observed at auctions so far.
Ein Spitzenpreis mit Ansage
Im November 2012 führte Sothebys in London die Auktion Modern & Post-War British Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Seated Nude von William Coldstream zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wechselte sie für einen Preis von GBP 73.250,00 (€ 90.236,57) den Besitzer und erzielte damit ein Ergebnis im oberen Bereich der Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 50.000,00 – 80.000,00. Auch wenn das Ergebnis damit nicht positiv überraschen konnte, ist Seated Nude das teuerste Kunstwerk von William Coldstream, das wir bisher bei Auktionen beobachtet haben.
