Auction result well in line with expectations
In November 2000 Christies in London held the auction British and Victorian Pictures, which included the work A Spanish beauty by Luke Fildes. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 1,000.00 – 1,500.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 1,057.50 (€ 1,728.44) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Luke Fildes achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Simpletons (The Sweet River) in July 2016 with an auction result of GBP 15,000.00 (€ 17,823.24).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im November 2000 führte Christies in London die Auktion British and Victorian Pictures durch, in der auch die Arbeit A Spanish beauty von Luke Fildes zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 1.000,00 – 1.500,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 1.057,50 (€ 1.728,44) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Luke Fildes erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Simpletons (The Sweet River) im Juli 2016 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 15.000,00 (€ 17.823,24).
