The »bidding war« ended at GBP 1,920.00 (€ 2,851.64), 60% above the upper estimate. Admittedly, works by Peter Markham Scott have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Mallard and Teal in Flight in May 2020 with an auction result of GBP 25,062.00 (€ 27,821.58).

Die Arbeit A Pair Of Widgen von Peter Markham Scott wurde im Juli 2007 in der Auktion British & Continental Pictures including Sporting and Marine Paintings bei Sothebys in Olympia versteigert. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 1.920,00 (€ 2.851,64) und damit 60% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Peter Markham Scott auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Mallard and Teal in Flight im Mai 2020 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 25.062,00 (€ 27.821,58).
