Auction result well in line with expectations
The work S. Sebastian Of Highbury (Joseph Chamberlain) by Max Beerbohm was sold in the 20th Century British Art auction at Sothebys in London in December 2010. The price achieved of GBP 3,750.00 (€ 4,349.99) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 3,000.00 – 5,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Max Beerbohm achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work 'Mr Churchill' in March 2018 with an auction result of GBP 47,500.00 (€ 54,081.37).
