Auction result well in line with expectations
The work ‘...Giving Place To The New’ (‘Lord Lansdowne (To Mr Gordon Selfridge): “Statuary, Sir? Majolica, Paintings In Oil, All The Latest Eighteenth-Century Books – This Way.”’) by Max Beerbohm was auctioned at Sothebys in London in March 2018. The price achieved of GBP 4,000.00 (€ 4,554.22) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 3,000.00 – 5,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Max Beerbohm achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work 'Mr Churchill' in March 2018 with an auction result of GBP 47,500.00 (€ 54,081.37).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit ‘...Giving Place To The New’ (‘Lord Lansdowne (To Mr Gordon Selfridge): “Statuary, Sir? Majolica, Paintings In Oil, All The Latest Eighteenth-Century Books – This Way.”’) von Max Beerbohm kam im März 2018 bei Sothebys in London zur Auktion.
