Auction result well in line with expectations
In March 2018 Sothebys in London held the auction The Political Cartoon Collection of Jeffrey Archer, which included the work ‘Cold-Shouldered Yet’ (‘Mr Bonar Law (To Tariff Reform): “It’S A Quee-Er Thing, Laddie, But There’S Evidently A Sor-Rt Of A Somewhat About Ye That Doesna Inspire Confidence.”) by Max Beerbohm. The price achieved of GBP 2,375.00 (€ 2,704.07) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 2,000.00 – 3,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Max Beerbohm achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work 'Mr Churchill' in March 2018 with an auction result of GBP 47,500.00 (€ 54,081.37).

Im März 2018 führte Sothebys in London die Auktion The Political Cartoon Collection of Jeffrey Archer durch, in der auch die Arbeit ‘Cold-Shouldered Yet’ (‘Mr Bonar Law (To Tariff Reform): “It’S A Quee-Er Thing, Laddie, But There’S Evidently A Sor-Rt Of A Somewhat About Ye That Doesna Inspire Confidence.”) von Max Beerbohm zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 2.375,00 (€ 2.704,07) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 2.000,00 – 3.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Max Beerbohm erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit 'Mr Churchill' im März 2018 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 47.500,00 (€ 54.081,37).
