In March 2018 Sothebys in London held the auction The Political Cartoon Collection of Jeffrey Archer, which included the work ‘A Solution’ (‘Mr Arthur Balfour: “...And So – Though Of Course It Is Quite Possible That You Are None Of You At All Restive Really – I Have Prevailed On Dear Gerald To Return To Public Life And Lead You In My Stead.”’) by Max Beerbohm. The auction ended at the price of GBP 5,000.00 (€ 5,692.78), which exactly corresponded to the upper end of the estimated price range of GBP 3,000.00 – 5,000.00. Admittedly, works by Max Beerbohm have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work 'Mr Churchill' in March 2018 with an auction result of GBP 47,500.00 (€ 54,081.37).

Im März 2018 führte Sothebys in London die Auktion The Political Cartoon Collection of Jeffrey Archer durch, in der auch die Arbeit ‘A Solution’ (‘Mr Arthur Balfour: “...And So – Though Of Course It Is Quite Possible That You Are None Of You At All Restive Really – I Have Prevailed On Dear Gerald To Return To Public Life And Lead You In My Stead.”’) von Max Beerbohm zur Versteigerung kam. Das dabei erzielte Ergebnis von GBP 5.000,00 (€ 5.692,78) entsprach exakt dem oberen Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 3.000,00 – 5.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Max Beerbohm auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit 'Mr Churchill' im März 2018 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 47.500,00 (€ 54.081,37).
