Sold at the upper estimate price
The work Cheering Up The Munitions Workers by Max Beerbohm was sold in the 20th Century British Art auction at Sothebys in London in November 2009. The auction ended at the price of GBP 6,000.00 (€ 6,566.23), which exactly corresponded to the upper end of the estimated price range of GBP 4,000.00 – 6,000.00. Admittedly, works by Max Beerbohm have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work 'Mr Churchill' in March 2018 with an auction result of GBP 47,500.00 (€ 54,081.37).
Zuschlag beim oberen Schätzpreis
Die Arbeit Cheering Up The Munitions Workers von Max Beerbohm wurde im November 2009 in der Auktion 20th Century British Art bei Sothebys in London versteigert. Das dabei erzielte Ergebnis von GBP 6.000,00 (€ 6.566,23) entsprach exakt dem oberen Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 4.000,00 – 6.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Max Beerbohm auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit 'Mr Churchill' im März 2018 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 47.500,00 (€ 54.081,37).
