Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Luke Fildes could be acquired at Christies in London in December 2005 for an unexpectedly low price. In the JOHN FRANKS COLL. OF ORIGINAL WATERCOLOURS FOR VANITY FAIR auction, the work Mr Archer Baker, 'C.P.R. in Europe' Businessman changed hands for GBP 1,440.00 (€ 2,090.08) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of GBP 1,500.00 – 2,000.00. Admittedly, works by Luke Fildes have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Simpletons (The Sweet River) in July 2016 with an auction result of GBP 15,000.00 (€ 17,823.24).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Dieses Kunstwerk von Luke Fildes konnte im Dezember 2005 bei Christies in London für einen unerwartet niedrigen Preis ersteigert werden. In der Auktion JOHN FRANKS COLL. OF ORIGINAL WATERCOLOURS FOR VANITY FAIR wechselte die Arbeit Mr Archer Baker, 'C.P.R. in Europe' Businessman für GBP 1.440,00 (€ 2.090,08) den Besitzer – und verfehlte damit das untere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 1.500,00 – 2.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Luke Fildes auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Simpletons (The Sweet River) im Juli 2016 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 15.000,00 (€ 17.823,24).
