In December 2005 Christies in London held the auction JOHN FRANKS COLL. OF ORIGINAL WATERCOLOURS FOR VANITY FAIR, which included the work Charles Herbert Workman, 'Through every passion raging' Singer by Luke Fildes. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 3,120.00 (€ 4,528.51), 56% above the upper estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Luke Fildes - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Simpletons (The Sweet River), which sold at auction in July 2016 for GBP 15,000.00 (€ 17,823.24).

Im Dezember 2005 führte Christies in London die Auktion JOHN FRANKS COLL. OF ORIGINAL WATERCOLOURS FOR VANITY FAIR durch, in der auch die Arbeit Charles Herbert Workman, 'Through every passion raging' Singer von Luke Fildes zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 3.120,00 (€ 4.528,51) und damit 56% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Für andere Arbeiten von Luke Fildes mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Simpletons (The Sweet River) beobachtet, die im Juli 2016 für GBP 15.000,00 (€ 17.823,24) versteigert wurde.
