Auction result well in line with expectations
The work British Past And Present Generations by Lawrence Alma-Tadema was sold in the 19th Century European Art auction at Sothebys in New York in February 2019. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 300,000.00 – 500,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 325,000.00 (€ 285,613.85) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Lawrence Alma-Tadema achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work British the Finding Of Moses in November 2010 with an auction result of USD 35,922,500.00 (€ 27,556,382.33).

Die Arbeit British Past And Present Generations von Lawrence Alma-Tadema wurde im Februar 2019 in der Auktion 19th Century European Art bei Sothebys in New York versteigert. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 300.000,00 – 500.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 325.000,00 (€ 285.613,85) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen.
