In May 2019 Sothebys in New York held the auction 19th Century European Art, which included the work An Eloquent Silence by Lawrence Alma-Tadema. The result of USD 250,000.00 (€ 224,235.36) was exactly at the lower end of the estimate range of USD 250,000.00 – 350,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Lawrence Alma-Tadema achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work British the Finding Of Moses in November 2010 with an auction result of USD 35,922,500.00 (€ 27,556,382.33).
Zuschlag beim unteren Schätzpreis
Im Mai 2019 führte Sothebys in New York die Auktion 19th Century European Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit An Eloquent Silence von Lawrence Alma-Tadema zur Versteigerung kam. Das dabei erzielte Ergebnis von USD 250.000,00 (€ 224.235,36) entsprach exakt dem unteren Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 250.000,00 – 350.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Lawrence Alma-Tadema erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit British the Finding Of Moses im November 2010 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 35.922.500,00 (€ 27.556.382,33).
