Auction result well in line with expectations
In March last year Bonhams in London held the auction British and European Art, which included the work Portraits of an elderly woman and man, a pair both 47.6 x 35.8cm (18 3/4 x 14 1/8in). (2) by James Jebusa Shannon. The price achieved of GBP 1,275.00 (€ 1,511.66) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 1,000.00 – 1,500.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by James Jebusa Shannon achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work In the Springtime in July last year with an auction result of GBP 529,200.00 (€ 631,958.79).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im März letzten Jahres führte Bonhams in London die Auktion British and European Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Portraits of an elderly woman and man, a pair both 47.6 x 35.8cm (18 3/4 x 14 1/8in). (2) von James Jebusa Shannon zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 1.275,00 (€ 1.511,66) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 1.000,00 – 1.500,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von James Jebusa Shannon erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit In the Springtime im Juli letzten Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 529.200,00 (€ 631.958,79).
