The work Yehudi Menuhin by Jacob Epstein was sold in the Made in Britain auction at Sothebys in London in September 2020. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 8,820.00 (€ 9,725.48), 47% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Jacob Epstein achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Sir Winston Churchill in June 2014 with an auction result of GBP 182,500.00 (€ 228,025.02).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 47 % übertroffen
Die Arbeit Yehudi Menuhin von Jacob Epstein wurde im September 2020 in der Auktion Made in Britain bei Sothebys in London versteigert. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 8.820,00 (€ 9.725,48) und damit 47% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Jacob Epstein erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Sir Winston Churchill im Juni 2014 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 182.500,00 (€ 228.025,02).
