In June 2010 Sothebys in Toronto held the auction Important Canadian Art, which included the work Trees And Lake by Frederick Banting. The result of CAD 12,000.00 (€ 9,204.78) was exactly at the lower end of the estimate range of CAD 12,000.00 – 18,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Frederick Banting - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work St. Simeon Inn, which sold at auction in November 2010 for CAD 45,000.00 (€ 33,622.28).
Zuschlag beim unteren Schätzpreis
Im Juni 2010 führte Sothebys in Toronto die Auktion Important Canadian Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Trees And Lake von Frederick Banting zur Versteigerung kam. Das dabei erzielte Ergebnis von CAD 12.000,00 (€ 9.204,78) entsprach exakt dem unteren Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von CAD 12.000,00 – 18.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Frederick Banting mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit St. Simeon Inn beobachtet, die im November 2010 für CAD 45.000,00 (€ 33.622,28) versteigert wurde.
