In December 2009 Sothebys in Toronto held the auction Important Canadian Art, which included the work Ste. Irenée, Quebec by Frederick Banting. The »bidding war« ended at CAD 36,000.00 (€ 24,010.88), 44% above the upper estimate. Other works by Frederick Banting have achieved even higher prices, we observed the highest auction result so far of CAD 45,000.00 (€ 33,622.28) in November 2010 for the work St. Simeon Inn.
Oberer Schätzpreis um 44 % übertroffen
Im Dezember 2009 führte Sothebys in Toronto die Auktion Important Canadian Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Ste. Irenée, Quebec von Frederick Banting zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von CAD 36.000,00 (€ 24.010,88) und damit 44% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Andere Arbeiten von Frederick Banting haben noch höhere Preise erzielt - wir haben das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis von CAD 45.000,00 (€ 33.622,28) im November 2010 für die Arbeit St. Simeon Inn beobachtet.
