Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Portrait Of Lady Hillingdon by Francis Bernard Dicksee was auctioned at Sothebys in London in December 2015. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 300,000.00 – 500,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 341,000.00 (€ 463,061.61) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Francis Bernard Dicksee - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work British Yseult, which sold at auction in February 2019 for USD 1,155,000.00 (€ 1,015,027.68).
