A top price for Francis Bernard Dicksee - as previously expected
The work British Yseult by Francis Bernard Dicksee was sold in the 19th Century European Art auction at Sothebys in New York in February 2019. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 1,000,000.00 – 2,000,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 1,155,000.00 (€ 1,015,027.68) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Even if this result could not surprise positively, British Yseult is the most expensive artwork by Francis Bernard Dicksee that we have observed at auctions so far.
