Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
In December 2010 Christies in London held the auction Victorian & British Impressionist Pictures Including Drawings and Watercolours, which included the work Portrait of the Hon. Mrs Ernest Guinness, standing, full-length, wearing an emerald dress and feather by Francis Bernard Dicksee. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 121,250.00 (€ 140,649.63), 21% above the upper estimate. Admittedly, works by Francis Bernard Dicksee have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work British Yseult in February 2019 with an auction result of USD 1,155,000.00 (€ 1,015,027.68).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Im Dezember 2010 führte Christies in London die Auktion Victorian & British Impressionist Pictures Including Drawings and Watercolours durch, in der auch die Arbeit Portrait of the Hon. Mrs Ernest Guinness, standing, full-length, wearing an emerald dress and feather von Francis Bernard Dicksee zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 121.250,00 (€ 140.649,63) und damit 21% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Francis Bernard Dicksee auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit British Yseult im Februar 2019 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 1.155.000,00 (€ 1.015.027,68).
