It achieved a price of GBP 97,250.00 (€ 107,589.05), exceeding the upper end of the estimate range by 22%. Admittedly, works by Francis Bernard Dicksee have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work British Yseult in February 2019 with an auction result of USD 1,155,000.00 (€ 1,015,027.68).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Die Arbeit Portrait Of Mrs W. K. D'Arcy, Seated, Three-Quarter Length, In An Opulent Interior von Francis Bernard Dicksee kam im Juni 2011 bei Christies in London zur Auktion. Sie erzielte dabei einen Preis von GBP 97.250,00 (€ 107.589,05) und übertraf damit das obere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne um 22%. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Francis Bernard Dicksee auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit British Yseult im Februar 2019 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 1.155.000,00 (€ 1.015.027,68).
