Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Study of a nude standing woman leaning against a rock with a flaming staff in her left hand for Venus in Venus Epithalamia by Edward Burne-Jones was sold in the 19th Century and British Impressionist Art auction at Bonhams in New York in September this year. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 8,000.00 – 12,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 8,960.00 (€ 8,960.00) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Edward Burne-Jones achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Love among the Ruins in July 2013 with an auction result of GBP 14,845,875.00 (€ 16,963,999.76).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Study of a nude standing woman leaning against a rock with a flaming staff in her left hand for Venus in Venus Epithalamia von Edward Burne-Jones wurde im September diesen Jahres in der Auktion 19th Century and British Impressionist Art bei Bonhams in New York versteigert.
