This artwork by Claude Barry achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in London in March 2006. In the 20th Century British Art auction, the work The City of Romance sold for GBP 31,200.00 (€ 44,703.98) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 15,000.00. Admittedly, works by Claude Barry have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work London and Wartime: Nocturne in June 2015 with an auction result of GBP 230,500.00 (€ 325,002.11).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Claude Barry erzielte im März 2006 bei Christies in London einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion 20th Century British Art wurde die Arbeit The City of Romance für GBP 31.200,00 (€ 44.703,98) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von GBP 15.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Claude Barry auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit London and Wartime: Nocturne im Juni 2015 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 230.500,00 (€ 325.002,11).
