Auction result well in line with expectations
In December last year Christies in London held the auction British and European Art: Online, which included the work A Huntsman Riding Through a Thicket by Alfred Munnings. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 40,000.00 – 60,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 44,100.00 (€ 49,784.60) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Alfred Munnings achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Gypsies Arriving at Epsom in December 2000 with an auction result of USD 3,031,000.00 (€ 3,228,589.69).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Dezember letzten Jahres führte Christies in London die Auktion British and European Art: Online durch, in der auch die Arbeit A Huntsman Riding Through a Thicket von Alfred Munnings zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 40.000,00 – 60.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 44.100,00 (€ 49.784,60) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Alfred Munnings erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Gypsies Arriving at Epsom im Dezember 2000 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 3.031.000,00 (€ 3.228.589,69).
