Auction result well in line with expectations
The work At The Start, Newmarket by Alfred Munnings was sold in the Victorian, Pre-Raphaelite & British Impressionist Art auction at Sothebys in London in July 2016. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 150,000.00 – 200,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 161,000.00 (€ 191,302.83) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Alfred Munnings achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Gypsies Arriving at Epsom in December 2000 with an auction result of USD 3,031,000.00 (€ 3,228,589.69).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit At The Start, Newmarket von Alfred Munnings wurde im Juli 2016 in der Auktion Victorian, Pre-Raphaelite & British Impressionist Art bei Sothebys in London versteigert. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 150.000,00 – 200.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 161.000,00 (€ 191.302,83) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Alfred Munnings erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Gypsies Arriving at Epsom im Dezember 2000 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 3.031.000,00 (€ 3.228.589,69).
