Auction result well in line with expectations
The work British The Gypsy Encampment (Hop-Pickers' Fires) by Alfred Munnings was sold in the Sporting Art auction at Sothebys in New York in November 2007. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 300,000.00 – 500,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 349,000.00 (€ 237,608.93) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Alfred Munnings achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Gypsies Arriving at Epsom in December 2000 with an auction result of USD 3,031,000.00 (€ 3,228,589.69).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit British The Gypsy Encampment (Hop-Pickers' Fires) von Alfred Munnings wurde im November 2007 in der Auktion Sporting Art bei Sothebys in New York versteigert. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 300.000,00 – 500.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 349.000,00 (€ 237.608,93) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Alfred Munnings erzielen.
