Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
In June 2005 Christies in London held the auction Victorian & Traditionalist Pictures, which included the work Victory by Alfred Gilbert. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 3,120.00 (€ 4,624.04), 25% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Alfred Gilbert achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Saint George in December 2014 with an auction result of GBP 338,500.00 (€ 435,761.76).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Im Juni 2005 führte Christies in London die Auktion Victorian & Traditionalist Pictures durch, in der auch die Arbeit Victory von Alfred Gilbert zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 3.120,00 (€ 4.624,04) und damit 25% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Alfred Gilbert erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Saint George im Dezember 2014 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 338.500,00 (€ 435.761,76).
