Sold at the lower estimate price
In September 2016 Christies in London held the auction Brian Sewell - Critic & Collector, which included the work Studies for a Rest on the Flight into Egypt, a study of the same in a landscape setting and further studies of the Virgin, the Christ Child and a cherub ( recto ); Rapid figure studies ( verso ) by Simone Cantarini. The result of GBP 6,000.00 (€ 6,948.75) was exactly at the lower end of the estimate range of GBP 6,000.00 – 8,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Simone Cantarini achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Portrait of A Seated Gentleman And A Lady Holding A Rosary in April 2006 with an auction result of USD 408,000.00 (€ 323,193.92).
Zuschlag beim unteren Schätzpreis
Im September 2016 führte Christies in London die Auktion Brian Sewell - Critic & Collector durch, in der auch die Arbeit Studies for a Rest on the Flight into Egypt, a study of the same in a landscape setting and further studies of the Virgin, the Christ Child and a cherub ( recto ); Rapid figure studies ( verso ) von Simone Cantarini zur Versteigerung kam.
