Auction result well in line with expectations
The work The Holy Family by Simone Cantarini was sold in the Old Masters Evening Sale auction at Christies in London in July 2019. The price achieved of GBP 87,500.00 (€ 96,069.18) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 70,000.00 – 100,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Simone Cantarini - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Portrait of A Seated Gentleman And A Lady Holding A Rosary, which sold at auction in April 2006 for USD 408,000.00 (€ 323,193.92).
