Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
The work The Madonna and Child by Simon Vouet was sold in the Important Old Master Paintings and Sculpture auction at Christies in New York in January 2009. Here, the upper estimate of USD 150,000.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for USD 158,500.00 (€ 123,789.44). However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Simon Vouet - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Madonna and Child, which sold at auction in May last year for USD 504,000.00 (€ 469,667.32).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Die Arbeit The Madonna and Child von Simon Vouet wurde im Januar 2009 in der Auktion Important Old Master Paintings and Sculpture bei Christies in New York versteigert. Dabei wurde der obere Schätzpreis von USD 150.000,00 leicht übertroffen – das Kunstwerk fand für USD 158.500,00 (€ 123.789,44) einen neuen Besitzer. Für andere Arbeiten von Simon Vouet mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Madonna and Child beobachtet, die im Mai letzten Jahres für USD 504.000,00 (€ 469.667,32) versteigert wurde.
